EUROPA - The 70th Anniversary of EUROPA Stamps
About EUROPA - The 70th Anniversary of EUROPA Stamps
The Europa stamp series was launched in 1956, when the first joint stamps were issued by Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
The creator sought to create a small, yet easily recognizable symbol that speaks to the things that are extremely important today – connection, trust and community. The diagonally rising line of dots in his logo resembles the perforation of a postage stamp and at the same time represents the consistent work of the European postal community. The seven connected dots represent 70 years of joint efforts, while the color transitions and background patterns create a dynamic whole that reflects the colors of the flags of European countries and their unity.
