100th Anniversary of Lithuanian Radio

The postage stamp dedicated to the centenary of Lithuanian Radio depicts the place where the history of national radio began – Kaunas Radio Station in Žaliakalnis. It was from here that the words “Hello, hello. Lithuanian Radio, Kaunas” rang out a century ago.

Over the past hundred years, radio has become an integral part of Lithuanian public life: it has informed, mobilized, and accompanied the most important moments in the country's history, and to this day remains one of the most important channels for public information and cultural dissemination.
