The Anniv. of the famous world culture representatives - Dante Alighieri and P. I. Tchaikovsky

On September 2nd, 2015 Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP) is issuing its series of stamps, dedicated to the anniversaries of the famous world culture representatives: the 750th Birth Anniversary of Dante Alighieri and the 175th Birth Anniversary of P. I. Tchaikovsky.

Dante Alighieri (1265 — 1321) is the great Italian poet, theologian, politician and one of the founders of the literary Italian language. His famous “Divine Comedy” became a kind of synthesis of European late medieval culture.

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840 – 1893) is the great Russian composer, conductor, teacher and author of more than 80 musical works, including ten operas and three ballets. The works of P. I. Tchaikovsky represent a well-deserved part of the Kyrgyz theatres repertoire.
