To supporting our fellow creatures

Romfilatelia, the company specialized in issuing and trading Romanian postage stamps, released on 09.05.2005 the postage stamp issue “To supporting our fellow creatures” – overprint on the stamp with the face value of 1440 lei, of the issue “The main forest species” (1994), which illustrates the PICEA ABIES L. species.

The extremely grave situation appeared due to the calamitous floods which occurred in western regions of Romania, requires more than ever a demonstration of the solidarity of the whole Romanian people, solidarity that has to be materialized in aids for returning to normality, for all those who remained without their houses and goods obtained along many years of effort.

In order to support the actions initiated by the Government of Romania, Romfilatelia, together with the Romanian Post, put into circulation this issue and all the revenues obtained from the sales are donated to supporting the victims of the floods.
