Curious Customs

The stamps feature highly engaging and colourful illustrations, depicting and capturing the spirit of

well-known and some not so well-known customs that take place around the UK each year.

Royal Mail is celebrating the pride of often seemingly unusual annual customs that are carried out

throughout the UK. We have selected an eclectic mix of well-known and some not so well-known

events that take place in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

The UK has an incredibly rich heritage of traditional and unusual customs. Whilst some of these may

seem eccentric to the outside observer, for those who take part there is pride in upholding

centuries-old traditions, and conversely, in some cases establishing new customs.
