About Molla Panah Vagif Mausoleum

In 1982, on January 14, with the participation of Heydar Aliyev, the grand opening of the Tomb of Molla Panah Vagif and the poetry House took place. That day has become a national holiday of culture and art.

The tomb was erected on the south-western side of Shusha, on the famous Jidir plain, on a rocky hill where the poet died and was buried. The side of the Tomb facing the city is notable for its impressive headstone appearance. The name of the poet was engraved in large letters of white marble on the weft of bashtag. In the center of the White Marble Hall, the grave of the poet was placed in a black marble vault.

After the occupation of Shusha by Armenians in 1992, the Tomb of Molla Panah Vagif was also destroyed, and all the exhibits exhibited here were destroyed.
