150th Anniversary of Jurgis Baltrusaitis
On April 17th, 2023, a one-sided postcard with 1 stamp dedicated to the theme “150th Anniversary of Jurgis Baltrušaitis” has been put into circulation.
The postage stamp of the postcard depicts the Lithuanian diplomat, poet and translator Jurgis Baltrušaitis (1873-1944).
The bottom left corner of the postcard depicts the pages from the books of Jurgis Baltrušaitis as well as the inscriptions “150TH ANNIVERSARY”, “JURGIS BALTRUŠAITIS” and “LITHUANIAN POET AND DIPLOMAT” written in Armenian and English languages.
Jurgis Baltrušaitis wrote a comprehensive overview about Armenian literature from ancient times to the beginning of the 20th century for the Lithuanian "Encyclopedia" as well as he translated poems of Alexander Tsaturyan and Vahan Tekeyan.
