The Tall Ships Races

On 24 July, the Tall Ships Races, the world’s largest regatta for sailing vessels, returns to Mariehamn which is one of six host ports for the international sailing race in the Baltic Sea in the summer of 2024. The stamp shows young people learning to sail on a traditional sailing vessel – an image that reflects the races’ spirit of teamwork, seamanship, and international exchange.

Illustrated on the stamp sheet are sailing vessels of the various classes that take part in the Tall Ships Races, from class A which are large square-rigged sailing vessels to class B with traditionally rigged ships, and the smaller “ordinary” sailing boats in classes C and D.
