2025Embroidered Flowers - Stamp Booklet

On June 10, 2025, La Poste issued a booklet of twelve postage stamps, illustrated with trompe-l'oeil embroidered flowers. The embroidered flower stamps are inspired by the work of embroiderer Ugo Lo Monaco, winner of the gold medal at the 1937 International Exhibition of Arts and Techniques in Paris. In this series, his grandson, Gérard Lo Monaco, a designer and illustrator, reinterprets the embroidery motifs based on twelve preserved compositions from his archives. Through the use of color, he offers an artistic perspective on this expertise of French haute couture.
