Peace is a treasure of immeasurable value—especially in today’s world. This international joint issue is intended as a symbol of peace and hope.
The collaborative project highlights that peace always begins within ourselves. It stands as a testament to the power of individuals and institutions committed to building a better world. The dove of peace is the shared motif of this stamp, which is the result of cooperation between several European postal operators, the United Nations, and the Universal Postal Union. Its message is philatelic yet powerful: like a dove, a stamp can cross borders. The embroidered peace dove featured on the stamp was produced by the traditional Vorarlberg-based company Hämmerle & Vogel for all participating countries—only the country name and value vary. The accompanying postcard booklet “Peaceful together” celebrates peaceful coexistence with beautiful animal photographs and thoughtful quotes.
