This stamp dedicated to Christmas reproduces a detail from the famous painting “Madonna della Misericordia” (Our Lady of Mercy), who protects the members of the brotherhood of the same name under her cloak. The artwork is taken from Piero della Francesca’s “Polittico della Misericordia” (Painting of Mercy), kept at the Civic Museum in Sansepolcro, which is named after the artist. Completing the value is “1.85”, “San Marino”, the coat of arms of the Republic, and the captions “Piero della Francesca Madonna della Misericordia” and “Natale 2025”. The band on the left-hand side of the sheet reproduces Piero della Francesca's painting ‘Madonna della Misericordia’ at the top, with the legends “Natale 2025”, “Piero della Francesca Madonna della Misericordia” and “Museo Civico Piero della Francesca Sansepolcro (AR)”.
