About Rabbi Mazuz
Rabbi Meir Nissim Mazuz (1945–2025) was a prominent Tunisian‑Israeli Sephardic Haredi rabbi and Torah scholar, best known as the head of Yeshivat Kisse Rahamim in Bnei Brak. Born in Tunis, he studied traditional Torah and Talmud under his father, Rabbi Matsliah Mazuz, before immigrating to Israel in 1971 after his father’s assassination. Rabbi Mazuz became a leading authority in Jewish law, a prolific author, and a preserver of Tunisian‑Sephardic liturgical and educational traditions. He also played a significant role in guiding the Sephardic‑Haredi community in Israel. His passing in April 2025 was widely mourned across religious and public life.
