202665 years since the first human spaceflight, 45 years since the first Mongolian in space - Miniature Sheet

This commemorative postage stamp is issued to honor the historic achievement of humankind’s exploration of outer space and to preserve the proud history of Mongolia’s space research sector.

On April 12, 1961, Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first human to travel into space aboard the spacecraft Vostok-1, marking the beginning of a new era for humanity. Later, on March 22, 1981, Mongolian citizen and cosmonaut Jügderdemid Gürragchaa flew into space aboard Soyuz-39 together with Soviet cosmonaut Vladimir Dzhanibekov, making Mongolia the 10th country in the world to send a human into space.
