Stamp Description: The year 2026 marks the 120th anniversary of the birth of Natsagdorj Dashdorj, the great Mongolian writer, enlightener, and founder of modern Mongolian literature. This year also marks the centenary of the beginning of Mongolian students' journeys to Germany and France to pursue their education in distant lands, as expressed in the famous phrase "to places beyond the reach of the wild geese”.
To commemorate these historic anniversaries, Mongol Post JSC is issuing a postage stamp dedicated to the "120th Anniversary of the Birth of Natsagdorj Dashdorj, Founder of Modern Mongolian Literature”.
The eight sheetlet stamps inspired by the life and literary works of D. Natsagdorj feature excerpts of two lines each from his works, including the poems The Star, Four Seasons (Autumn), Let Us Study, Parting from My Wife and Children, and A Traveller Departing to Study in a Distant Land, the narrative poem from Ulaanbaatar to Berlin, the musical drama The Three Fatefull Hills, and the philosophical short story The Dark Rock.
Journalist and researcher Ch. Bold, along with senior diplomat and philatelic consultant O. Batsaikhan, provided professional advice and contributed to the creation of these stamps.
