In the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem’s Old City, there are several important synagogues located close to each other, including the Hurva Synagogue, which is the most famous and has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times, and the historic Ramban Synagogue, one of the oldest active synagogues in the city. There is also the group known as the Four Sephardic Synagogues, which includes Yochanan ben Zakai, Istanbuli, Eliahu Ha’navi, and the central Middle Synagogue. Other notable sites include the Beit El Synagogue, linked to Jewish mystical traditions, and the Ohr HaChaim Synagogue, associated with Rabbi Chaim ibn Attar. Together, these synagogues form an important religious and historical center within a very small area of the Old City.
