About Contemporary Art of Lithuania - Cinema
After leaving Lithuania during the Second World War, J. Mekas in 1949 came to the USA, where after purchasing the first 16 mm film camera, he began recording the events of his life. Interested in avant-garde cinema, he organized film festivals of this genre and created a total of 160 portraits of avant-garde cinema during his lifetime.
