About Christmas
On the stamp of Christmas is reproduced a detail of the famous work of art "Madonna dell'Umiltà" by Masolino da Panicale. It is a double iconography: Mary sits on a pillow on the ground (Our Lady of Humility) while nursing her son Jesus (Madonna of milk). The theme seems particularly suitable for a sacred image displayed for devotion and intended for a small oratory or a secondary altar of a church.
