A prominent figure in Andorran society, Maria Dolors Ribes i Rogé left a deep mark on the world of catering and gastronomy.

A great cook with extraordinary strength and initiative, in her more than fifty years in the kitchen she knew how to interpret and adapt the most traditional and ancestral recipes of the Pyrenean valleys to the present day.

She began by preparing meals for stone workers and stonemasons, many of whom came from Asturias and Galicia and arrived in Andorra in the 1960s.

She later converted the Pont de la Massana bar into a restaurant, renowned for its memorable rice dishes, escudellas, and pulardas.

This philatelic recognition is a gesture of remembrance and gratitude for her work in compiling and preserving authentic Andorran recipes for future generations of chefs, both professional and amateur.
