The construction of the Cathedral Church of the Holy Trinity began in 1925. The foundations were consecrated on October 5 by Metropolitan Vasilije (Popović) of Banja Luka. The church was completed in terms of construction by 1929, and on September 15, the first service was held – a thanksgiving service in memory of the breakthrough of the Thessaloniki Front. The church was consecrated according to its design by Metropolitan Dositej (Vasić) of Zagreb – administrator of the Banja Luka Diocese, on the Feast of the Ascension, May 18, 1939.
