About 25th Anniversary of the Death of Elvis Presley

Elvis Aaron Presley, American singer, musician and actor, was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi. He lived in poverty during his childhood and at the age of thirteen moved to Memphis, Tennessee. For a brief time, he worked as a truck driver. His singing career began in 1953, when he attracted the attention of Sam Philips, manager of Sun Records. The songs "That's All Right, Mama" and "Blue Moon of Kentucky" became popular in 1955. In 1956, he recorded his first big hit, "Heartbreak Hotel". Other hits quickly followed, including "Hound Dog" and "Don't be Cruel" for RCA. Elvis Presley hits quickly achieved planetary stardom as an interpreter and creator of a new image in rock'n'roll.
