On December 31, 2020 the State Committee of Information Technology and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic puts into circulation a Kyrgyz Express Post postage stamp: “Year of the Ox”.
According to the traditional Chinese calendar, the coming new year will be the Year of the White Metal Ox. It will begin on February 12, 2021 and last until January 30, 2022.
The ox is the second animal sign of the Chinese zodiac. It is distinguished by strength, decisiveness, responsibility and permanency. The word “metal” in the name of the sign indicates strength, resilience and reliability. The white color in Eastern culture symbolizes purity, sanctity and justice.
The preceding year has been very difficult for all humanity because of the global pandemic. We sincerely hope that in the new year of the White Metal Ox, people will manage to cope with the accumulated problems and make significant steps towards prosperity and sustainable development.
