2024Charlotte Klobassa - Rumours 2023 - Set

This year's theme of the series "Young art in Austria" features a colourful work by the young Viennese artist Charlotte Klobassa.

"Rumours," created in 2023, is part of an oil painting triptych and was conceived both as a group composition and as a standalone piece. The title refers to the dynamics that arise when different characters come together. Charlotte Klobassa, born in 1987, studied at the University of Applied Arts and lives and works in Vienna and Berlin. Her abstract works incorporate unconscious signs and gestures that are removed from their original context, such as doodles by strangers in stationery shops, details of situations, or characteristics of people. In doing so, Klobassa takes on various positions by mimicking both foreign and her own gestures, attempting to depict imagined possibilities.
