Mariano Haro Cisneros (born 1940) is one of Spain's greatest long-distance runners and a legendary figure in Spanish athletics. Nicknamed the "Lion of Becerril", he dominated Spanish cross-country and distance running during the 1960s and 1970s. Haro won numerous national titles, represented Spain at four Olympic Games (1968, 1972, 1976 and 1980), and achieved international success with several medals at the World Cross Country Championships. He is widely regarded as a pioneer who inspired future generations of Spanish distance runners.
