Andrius Sniadeckis - Professor of Vilnius University, a chemist with whom is associated the beginning of chemistry teaching and biochemistry in Lithuania. He was educated personality. In 1800 he wrote the first chemistry textbook in Lithuania. His work on "Theory of Organic Bodies" was one of the first biology and biochemistry textbooks in the world, translated into French and German.
