Northern lapwing is small bird. It is also the shortest-legged of the lapwings. It fly to North Africa, North India and China to spend winter. At March bird returns to Lithuania from warm regions. This is a vocal bird in the breeding season. It likes open places – grasslands, pastures, cultivated fields. Nests are built in short wards of grass. Usually only one clutch of four eggs is laid.
