25 Years of the Fulfilment of King Nikola`s Last Will
… If I die abroad, while in exile, I want my funeral requiem to be performed according to the rules of our church, and my body to be placed intact in a temporary tomb, until it is possible to transfer my mortal remains to our dear fatherland and bury them there. For 68 years the body of King Nikola rested in a small rented Russian church, in a foreign country and under foreign skies, until 1989 when the transfer of the remains from San Remo and their burial in Cetinje was organized owing to a group of enthusiasts. The Montenegro Post is publishing a commemorative edition containing a postage stamp and a First Day envelope within the edition “25 Years since the Fulfilment of King Nikola’s Last Will”. The author of the conceptual design is Milena Kaluđerović Tonić, a graphic designer from Cetinje.
