Postage Stamp Day Pero Soc

Dr. Pero Đurov Šoć was a Doctor of Literature, civil servant, politician, writer, journalist, publicist, bibliographer, scientific and cultural worker, minister in several Montenegrin governments in exile. Before the war in 1914, he served in the Post and Telegraph Administration, as well as in the Ministry of Finance, the Main State Control and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro.

He was appointed Director of the PTT Service in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1929.

He left behind a rich intellectual opus. His collection is in the Archives of Yugoslavia in Belgrade, as well as a large legacy in the Central National Library “Đurđe Crnojević” in Cetinje.

Montenegro Post, within the edition the Postage Stamp Day “Pero Šoć”, publishes a commemorative stamp and the first day cover.
