About Art Through the Centuries in Montenegro- Uros Toskovic

Uroš Tošković, a Montenegrin painter and draftsman, was born in 1932 in Pelev Brijeg. He completed secondary art school in Cetinje in 1952. He continued his education in Belgrade, at the Academy of Fine Arts, where he graduated in 1956, in the class of Professor Marko Čelebonović. After graduating, as a scholarship holder of the French government, he went to Paris and graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts, under the mentorship of Professor Maurice Brianchon.

He was the winner of the Thirteenth of July Award.

He is considered one of the greatest Montenegrin and even European artists, as well as one of the world’s best artists of the 20th century.
