Museums - Art Nouveau and Art Deco Museum, Lis House, Salamanca

This 2023 Correos dedicates 3 new stamps to the Museums series to promote the dissemination of Spanish culture through these centers that preserve, guard and disseminate the history of humanity. The leading museums are: Artium Museoa, Museum of Contemporary Art of the Basque Country (Vitoria-Gasteiz); Art Nouveau and Art Deco Museum. Casa Lis (Salamanca); Museum of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando (Madrid):

Art Nouveau and Art Déco Museum located in Casa Lis (Salamanca) and belonging to the Manuel Ramos Andrade Foundation is the most visited in Castilla y León since its inauguration in 1995. Awarded on various occasions in recognition of its interest, cultural and tourist work , the Art Nouveau and Art Déco Museum preserves and exhibits more than 2,500 pieces corresponding to 19 collections of decorative arts from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Most of the pieces come from the donation of D. Manuel Ramos Andrade, although the Museum has expanded its collections by incorporating works of great value and quality. Added to this are the outstanding temporary exhibitions that it holds each year, as well as the intense cultural activity that takes place around them and that have made the Museum a benchmark at a national and international level, as well as one of the symbols and most unique spaces in the city of Salamanca.
