On June 22, 2026, PostNL will issue the Janneke Brinkman – Summer Palette frame stamp sheet, featuring 5 different stamps with botanical illustrations. The frame stamp sheet depicts flowers blooming in the summer and various insects found around flowers and plants during that season. The illustrations were created by botanical illustrator and watercolorist Janneke Brinkman-Salentijn. Janneke Brinkman-Salentijn (Meppel, March 1, 1948) already enjoyed drawing plants and flowers in detail during her biology studies at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. She later took lessons with Leny Noyen and at the Leiden art academy Ars Aemula Naturae.
The first exhibition of her work took place in 1987 in The Hague, and soon after, she became a well-known illustrator and watercolorist, primarily of plants, flowers, and insects. For example, she created illustrations for the weekly magazine Margriet for many years. Her work has now been featured on diaries, calendars, greeting cards, puzzles, bed and kitchen textiles, and tableware for over 30 years. In 2017, she celebrated her 25th anniversary as a botanical artist with an exhibition at Slot Zeist. In honor of this anniversary, PostNL issued a silver stamp titled "25 Years Passion for Flowers." Earlier, in 2014, a series of 8 stamp sheets titled "Flowers and Butterflies," organized by season, was released in collaboration with the National Foundation for the Elderly. In 2025, the "Autumn Palette" stamp sheet with 5 framed stamps was released.
