2026Silver Stamp - Dutch Ships – Orange Nassau - Silver Collection

In 2026, PostNL will issue a new four-part series of silver stamps featuring Dutch ships. These stamps feature four notable ships built in the Netherlands during the twentieth century: Zwarte Zee, Willem Ruys, Oranje Nassau, and Noord Hinder.

The Oranje Nassau was built in 1957 for the Royal Netherlands Steamship Company (KNSM) at the Gebroeders Pot Shipyards in Bolnes, a village just outside Rotterdam. It was a remarkable ship intended to carry both cargo and passengers.

The Oranje Nassau is often remembered as one of the last classic Dutch passenger/cargo ships to maintain the connection between the Netherlands and the former colonies in the Caribbean.
