About 575 years since the first written mention of Cetinje

In an archival source, the reference to Cetinje occurs four decades before the ruler of Montenegro Ivan Crnojević established his royal capital at that location. In a judicial notary file, which is kept in Kotor, it is stated that a certain “Tudor Nenojev Ivanović from Cetinje, borrowed 14 perpers and 10 groschen (groš) from Luka Putinov, to buy a bulletproof vest sold to him by Alegrer, a barber from Kotor”. The Montenegro Post is publishing a commemorative edition containing a postage stamp and a First Day envelope within the edition “575 Years from the First Written Reference to Cetinje”. The author of the conceptual design is Zoran Popović, a graphic designer from Podgorica.
