Maritime St.Nicholas Lighthouse
A lighthouse is a building that is built on shores, islands and rocks to serve as the navigational aid for vessels.
Lighthouses are used to mark dangerous coastlines, hazardous shoals, reefs, and safe entries to harbors.
Each lighthouse has its own distinctive and permanent light color, and a precise time sequence of darkness and light, so that the seamen can safely determine from which lighthouse comes the light. The location and characteristics of the lighthouse are included in the sea charts. One of these is also St. Nicholas Lighthouse in Budva. Montenegro Post Service, within the edition Maritime -St. Nicholas Lighthouse, publishes a commemorative stamp and the First Day Cover. The author of the design is Zoran Popović, a graphic designer from Podgorica.
