Duke Simo Popović is a famous writer, author and politician. He stood out as Secretary of Prince Nikola, who gave him the title of the Duke. He represented Montenegro in various diplomatic and political missions. He was also the governor of the Montenegrin-coastal region. In the history of Montenegro postal services, Duke Simo Popović was recorded as the author of the first design for the postage stamp.
