2026Silver Stamp - Dutch Ships, the Black Sea - Silver Collection

In 2026, PostNL will issue a new four-part series of stamps featuring silver Dutch ships. These stamps feature four prominent ships built in the Netherlands in the twentieth century: Zwarte Zee, Willem Ruys, Oranje Nassau, and Noord Hinder.

The Zwarte Zee was a tugboat built in 1933 by Smit Internationale in Kinderdijk, an internationally operating Dutch company that provided towing services, salvaged shipwrecks, and later also protected the environment during shipping accidents. The company was acquired by Boskalis in 2010.

The ship was launched on June 2, 1933, and made its first official sea trial on October 3 of that year with Princess Juliana on board.
