201950th Anniversary of the Mimosa Festival - First Day Cover

Herceg Novi hosts a Mimosa Festival in February, to honor the mimosa flower. The festival was established by the Boka Kotorska Tourist Association and the Municipality of Herceg Novi in 1969. The Mimosa Festival is a festival that best promotes the winter tourist season in Herceg Novi and Montenegro, and lasts for fifty years now. For years, warm winter flowers from Herceg Novi have melted ice and snow in the streets and squares all over Europe. Thanks to the festival, Herceg Novi has become a member of the Federation of European Carnival Cities. Montenegro Post Service, within the 50th anniversary of the Mimosa Festival, publishes a commemorative stamp and the First Day Cover. The author of the design is Dorđije Radević, a graphic designer from Podgorica.
